This is a headlight lid for the MX5 / Eunos from MX5mart over in NewZealand. Unlike the one that comes with the car it has a slot in it whihc allows cold air into the engine bay and therefore be sucked through the inlet manifold and burnt by the engine. Although you can buy these in the UK they are some 3 times the cost and the postage from New Zealnd was in fact very very cheap. Anyway what comes looks a bit crap. Its GRP moulded and isn't particularly well finished off. So before the first coat of primer and paint it needs a good sanding down.

Which gives you this. A painted headlamp lid. The thing is when you paint it you see more imperfections so its time to use more sandpaper.

After much effort the headlamp lid is ready to be fitted to the Eunos.

But as you can see here one of the lugs is in the wrong place! A bit late to send it all the way Back to New Zealand so another bracket requires to be made.

Now thats better. Better fix all the bits in place and make sure it algns properly with the bonnet.

It takes several ups and downs with the bonnet to align it right.

In fact it gets tedious but I get there eventually.

Looks nice and smart now, although in truth I doubt it will make any difference in performance.

But at least it looks slightly different to some other Eunos's - now to do my brothers.

Most of my week has in fact been taken up in front of the telly watching all of LOST. As each eposide ends you just want to find out whats going to happen next. It was hard to go to bed. I bet you anxious to know just like me how it ends!

Well some escape by raft hoping to get picked up via a ship.

So its bloody lucky a ship spots them isn't it!

Or is it - ooooooo

For those that stay behind these numbers continue to be bloomin unlucky for them but will this now change?

And why would you try to leave an Island when this lady can give you all you want in life?

And for those that are on the island why has that hatch mystreiously opened?

Should they go down there or not. It looks a long long way. Well I don't want to really ruin it for you do I. Christ when is series 2 going to be avaiable to watch?????

Satruday night was spent celebrating my uncles 70th birthday with a BBQ and some beers and a cake with Schmacher on it. Now I wonder where that iamge came from?

Just for the hell of it I'm doing a test run on a feul of tank to see how far I can go on one tank if I don't go over 2.5K RPM. This means I can get up to 70mph on the motorway. So far so good at 1/4 of a tank we had cover 250 miles instead of the usual 150miles.

Not quite as impressive but still good at half a tank full we have done 450 instead of the usual 300 miles!

I'll leave you with this.....

And so Friday was the end of Big Brother. I wasa glade to see Makosi did not win although she did not half get a frosty reception when she left the house.

The person I voted for was Eugine. My one and only vote of the season just to make sure Maksoi did not win.

With Makosi out it was now between Antony and Eugine - how exciting for them.

Would Eugine go home with the full 100K or would both leave with 50K each?

Shit Eugine's out. It could have been much worse and the second person I wanted to win did.

Yep hes loving it too right

Which is a good thing. Make the most of what lands in your lap.

HAving now checked out where Big-L and myself will be sitting at the Depeche Mode concert in Manchester you can see we have not done bad considering we are not standing. But being on the high tire may make me very giddy.

So I start to trall the web to see where else we could see them playing. I think if I did win the lottery most of the end of this year and the begining of next we be Nack and Big-Ls tour of Depeche Mode. Anyway I seem to decide to check out how much it would cost to see them in Tallin. Why Tallin - well its because they have a dedicated Depeche Mode bar there. Why have we not got one in Brum or Wolvo?

Any way this is what the Depeche Mode Barr looks like:

I settle in for Saturday night with an old film to watch - Flatliners. Gosh I know its old but surprisingly its still very good and atmospheric. Must have been the Depeche Mode thing bringing on all that doom and gloom.

All hell breaks loose about Sunday dinner time when Big-L calls me to inform me the Rainbow have a friendly game at Willenhall Town ground. And so we are off to go and watch them. Now I'd like to know why this can't be the Rainbows home ground. You see it even has a bar that is open. Much more civialised.

The highlight of the game!

John your ment to keep an eye on the ball? Perhaps that's why you have let so many in so far?

Thats better, that what those hands are for.

NO THIS DOES NOT LOOK GOOD

In fact it wasn't

and the Rainbow go on to LOSE 8-5! ECK!!

Now some of you may have heard that I have told you Wolverhamton has a tourist trail you can follow, AND no I was not joking here it is in all its cultural glory!

Now I think I relax and watch some episodes of lost...........

So Friday we jetted from Birmingham Airport to Edingburgh arriving around 2pm. We settled into the luxuary appartment and left to look around the city until it was time to go to the Tattoo. Its an odd thing which seems to make 2 hours odd fly by.

Perhaps its because its something I would never watch back home even on the telly?

This year it not being so dam cloudy we even got to seem some fireworks, yippeee.

Well like I said it was over before you knew it, ready for some late night drinking.

I was woken up by Big-L snoring but not till around 6am. So I got up had a shower and went to the hotle next door for breakfast once he was also up. From here we went up the the Sir Roberet Scott Tower.

And as Big-L had warned me it was a tight stair case to the top I knew it would be amusing!

As I hate walking the next thing we did was to get an open top bus around the city. One of the things I have not done on my many trips up to Edingburgh. As you can see all those steps up the previous tower had seemed to exhust Big-L! As you'll notice we are sitting on the back seats of the bus with Big-L in the central aisle. So what I hear you say. Well we specifically went on the bus were you get a real person guide doing the narration. And this person was narrating at the top level front of the bus facing Big-L. What a confidence booster to see that you've bored someone to sleep!

We carried on the bus for a second round of the same thing but with a different guide and so a slightly different veiw of things. Why we had stopped on though was becasue we could not be arsed to walk up the hill of the castle to our next appointment.

Off hand I can't remember what it was called but it was to do with light illusion and other stuff like that. On the roof you meet the oringal BIG BROTHER and can also take a look through the worlds most powerful telescope!

My oh my you can see great detail from miles around!

We had back indoors to play with the worlds largest plasma ball!

Hey look at us!

We move onto the streets of the Royal Mile to watch the on street entertainers!

These Aussie entertainers were especialy funny....

Finally later that night we relaxed in the comfort of our apartment.

Nice kitchen..

The next day we get up and prepare for the parade.

Go view from the first floor of the Robert Scott tower..

Eventually it ios time for home and we leave for our flight tired and weary.

As the central locking was playing up on the Eunos I decide to have a rethink of the installation and this is what I came up with using some new soleniods from Maplins. All seems fine now and the locks are more 'active' so hopefully I won't have to change them again. I have notice though that many people seem to have central locking problems on these cars.

And all the way from New Zealand comes a headlamp cover with an air intake whole. All I've got to do now is get it painted!

It would appear Sugar Rush has ended, which is a shame but there another channel 4 Drama Lost. Most people would have seen the first two episodes but after the second I flipped to E4 and watched the THIRD one two. humbug I've now got to wait till next Wednesday 11pm to get the forth one!
