God yeah after reading the latest Retro Gamer I went on Ebay I brought an N64.
Having never owned an Nintedo before and being a Sega then Sony fan I was actually in for a surprise. These came out as such
NES Sega Master System equivalent
SNES Sega Megadrive equivalent
N64 Sony playstation eqivalent
Game Cube - PS2 eqivalent
Wii - A diferent route complety
I was suprised how good the games were actually. No CD slot still cartrdige base. The thing is though - that contoller? What the hell. Its just unuseable. I guess these games are good but the controller. Hell no. Or is it my hands are moulded to the Playstation controller dynamics. Got to get some more games ebay here I come....

Well I was munching through 100% off this bag of ASDA cripsy coated peanuts feeling really greedy.
But there was need to. As you can see from the ingredients I had actually only eat 47% peanut! WTF??? Is it really cheaper to make food this way?
Went to the Lidel and what did I buy that I didn't know I needed? A new battery charger. This though is no ordinary battery charger - not that I knew that when I brought it.
It will try to recondition those rechargable batteries that seem not to want to recharge. Brillant for those solar powered garden lights that have been left outside all winter in the cold and now longer want to work.

And ehum Lady Gaga. Actuall the best of the lot. Yep this will be not doubt played more than the others. lets get it on the ipod.

Just and I mean just got the train home to Wolvo, where I passed er ok I didn't pass Jivans Balti house. I had another pint in there too but I didn't finish it. Saturday I was dead to the world.

With the weather so nice and the daffodills out it was nice to have a go out in the MX5 with the roof down no matter how silly the fuel prices are now becoming. Did the chancellor give us 1p off a litre. What a bloody joke thats like 50 to 75p off filling a tank up. And we are still going to have to pay the 5p extra fuel duty in January next year and then have another duty rise that April. Look out here comes £2.00 a liter by this time next year. It would drive you to drink but he put the beer up too.

So they have turned on the M6 hard shoulders, yippe and about time. Though when I was driving into work Radio WM mentioned that they were turned on, and that the system must be working as they could see the traffic was moving. I remember this quite clearly as they obviously didn't look at the camera where I was positioned. Guess what I was stationary! It does help but only after junction 10. Before that the M6 is as slow as its always been.

The next film came from love films. I didn't really check what it was about, it had Drew Barrmore in it so I guess it would be a romancy and slushy just like the snow we had last week. So I got the disc and put it in my dads PS3 with his big screen, newly set up Sony surround system and the 'new speakers' I got him weather he wanted them or not ;)
I was disappointed either. It is in fact a comedy, romance and in fact is was rather good - suprisingly.
In fact this was probably the funniest part that made me laugh out. Capturing the momment is everything.

While i love my nitro suprateam lf 163 an atomic alibi 163 became available at a price that was right even if it was not my design of choice.
But then if that was a big problem to me i wouldnt have brought it. I wonder if i will prefer it overall?

So once you have done the motherboard reheat, had your did kick it while it was meant to be cooling down, then have your brother know one of the components off it along with some circuit board which concluded in 2 hours of soldering the micro component back into position the unit is ready to be switched on.
Shock and horror it actually boots up! I kid you not, however there are several problems, the wireless network nolonger works, the Joy pad only works when plugged in the usb adaptor, the blue ray player takes discs in but then does nothing with them and finally, if you put the case back together and switch it on the red light of death comes on. Without the case on it is OK but as soon as the case is on it is not. It wold appear to have something to do with the button board.
So I strip the unit down again and rebuild redoing all the ribbon connectors, taking the blueray player apart again and rebuilding and then retrying.
Of My God it all works and functions! This can't be true can it? Yep it is. The PS3 is working and pumping hot air out of the back.
And so time to think about cooling, my plan was to use this Just cool twin tubro fan.
Hopefully keeping the base nice and cool.
And lifting the PS3 off the floor.
Not compete pretty but it may help keep it working, or for now perhaps just using it in the vertical position. I wonder how long this unit will last now.
So once your disc is out its time to try to repaire the PS3 afterall it doesn't work now so you have nothing to loose. I used this guide and did use plenty of flux.
And so the time comes to actually put it back togeather........
