For a change we decided to try the Basmati in Penkridge. Having driven past it many times and it being in the center of the travel plans we looked up the bus times and set out ot catch the bus to be in Penkridge by 18:15. The shock came when getting on the bus, Arriva wants £2:20 for such a short journey! Beardy wanted to walk but I was having none of that and on we got me murrming something about Hilton cabs next time.
So inside we are sat down politley and a waiter explains it is an all your can eat buffet for £14.00 or you can ordr from the menu.
The menu looks good but we all decide to have a large bottle of Cobra (brewed in Burton) and then to allow Beardy to try a feew things have the buffet.
Beardy is worried about getting something too hot but we wouldn't let that happen.
And so to the buffet. As can be seen here it is rather extensive. In fact there is also Thia and chinese options as well as pizza - something Beardy had. In fact Beardy had so much Chciken Tika Malsarla that he was never going to be able to try anything else.
So my verdict as follows:
1) The popadums from the buffet were not great. If these had been made and brought over to the table on demand they would have not doubt been much better. 3/10
2) The sauces for the popadums exsit but no bowls to put the onion salad in or spicy or yogurht sauce. Here I improvised and got a dessert bowl for the such. 0/10
3). Starter - over whelmingly good. The seclection awsome and everyone delicouse. All of them. 10/10
4). Main courses - Huge selection, all very nice and in those big pots theres not much in there, so warm and fresh to a point. Again all the dishes we tried were spot on, even Beardys pizza which he ate completly so I guess he like it. 10/10
5). Balti dishes. I have kind of seperated this from the above point as the food was great. But no choose to have a balti dish! Just plates. I know Mr King but I want a balti dish. so 0/10.
6). Rice - A good selection of rice and all very nice 8/10
7). Nan breads - of Jesus these were liek supermarket nans. crap not good, no fluffiness, card, tastless crap. Hell go to Jivans and learn to do them properly. 0/10
8). Dessert - A good selection of desserts and all were nice. Ice cream machine good. But turning it off is not obviuos, I had tonnes and I means tonnes of it beacuse the handle was not pushed up far enought. I thought I'd just been silly but no a little latter another customer was getting way too much ice cream too. Luckily I liek ice cream. A simple sign needed here. So what does too much ice cream get you? 10/10
So would I eat here again. Yes I would but I proberly wouldn't have the buffet next time, and I would ask for a balti dish and I would hope a fresh nan might just might be better.
After this we went to the Littlon Arms to make the ice cream in my stomach curdle with beer.
Whislt enjoying a Purity beer or two we notice many emergency vehicels heading towards Stafford as in many.
Enventually it was time to pay £2:20 to go home. Beardy wanted to walk it and I instisted not. Well not with me anyway. And as we trundled along the A449 we decided to get off at the Four Ashes as it was still open rather than going via Brewood.
Now here it looks quiet and empty. But believe me it was not and hence we weren't in the lounge.
Beardy read the paper. I watched Aston Villa verses Sunderland whilst talking to a neighbour, smelling the place out and Seeing Mr Hall again.
Eventually though it was time to go home, merrily merrily merrily leaving Gary in the bar still sufficating.

Got my snow socks from Asda. A mere £35.00 whihc is good value. Normal from £35.00 to £70 and my ~Skoda has big wheels. If I was a normal UK person I wouldn't get any but as I'll be heading to the mountains shortly I thought I'd give them a try rather than the chains. One will see, and for the first trip the chains will be coming along too.

Big-L gets up and advises that we should get down to the breakfast room before all the other lego guests eat all the food.
The next morning after a mighty fine breakfast, and some good service from waiter Tom we headed to the holy land of block people.
Amongst other things we go for a luxary cruise
Look at all those happy faces, isn't it amazing what a bit of coloured plastic can do for you.
And here we are thinking where are all the other guests? Well there in long qeues.
Teg wanted a go on the camel. But not as much as uncle Nack
Around the park a hundred times and in and out of the castle
And a series of goes on the frightening Dragon roller coaster. I got them all in one shot. How did I manage that?
After Nack get the hights score on the lazer magijme, we sit down for a hot choclate each. Well all barr one because kids do like to knock hot drinks over don't they. Luckily the photos were in carrier bags and were saved.
As darkness came some people left.
But others stayed once more for the fireworks
Teg gets the best seat again.
Piz fizz bang!
And eventually we leave Legoland in the hope to find bed and a night ful of dreams.

So I was collected at the crack of dawn by MR and Mrs Green along with the kids. Well by the time they turned up it was not so much crack of the dawn but a nice sunrise. A few hours later after going the scenic route we meet up with Marg and Dan at LEgoland Windsor
Along with all these people I am now a lego land anaul pass member - yeha. I come come back for a whole 12 months.
Les also turned up after the Wolves match ahd finished. And so it was a lovel Octobers day in the park of eco platic bits
So of them being works of art. And other now showing the signs of what UV does.
After many rides and I mean many it was time for the fireworks and Teg wanted the best seat going. Erm you wouldn't believe that a couple of weeks back Greenie was having back trouble?
Pop and off they went over and over and over again. Perhaps one of the longest firework shows I can ever remember seeing. I only wished I had filmed it to share with you.
Eventually we left the dark and closed Legoland and went to our Holiday Inn hotel in Slough. Now the hotel was nice but if you ventured out side things weren't so great. We were looking fo a pub that did some grub. Luckily there was a nice looking pub next door. This turned out to be a once was pub that is now a strip club. Wouldn't have been so bad but they didn't have any food on, so we moved on. The further we went the less promising things got. To the point were by Les said I don't know about you but I'm scared. Now I wasn't scared because I had 6ft Les next to me. But now he had said this, I was scared. Soetimes it best not to say these things. We stopped at a realy cheap take away. It wasn't becasue this take away was cheap that we stopped at it. Nope all the take aways here seem to be really cheap. We stopped here because they had a couple of seats so we could eat in doors. Eventually after knocking on the strip club door MR Green joined us. We wondered around some more and eventually did find a pub with some very freindly people inside. But I think LEs will remmebr it more for being charged £14 for 3 drinks! He did get some change later on in the night.

Well I have got my MX5 back at last with a 66K mile engine put in her. Lets hope this keeps it going for a good time longer. Some one said these engines are bullet proof. Well they are until they die.
Here it is, with the polish intake and top on. As said above we have wond time back here. The heart of the best has only done a mere 66K miles.
So try working it out then the engine has been put in at 148903Km's (roughly 92K miles).

Well earlier in the week the SONY PS3 FAT 1 died. Before retrying the heat gun method I thought I'd get some silver thermal compound this time before doing it. The last time Maplins didn't have any in stock and so used some white guey stuff they had which was the next best thing.
A visit to Maplins and ten pounds lighter I have the silver stuff, and you don't get much of it.
Back home it was time to disconnect the PS3 and take its lid off.
And so the PS3 was taken apart.
And here we have the motherboard.
The 2 main chips with the reminas of the white thermal compound. Note the different pattern that has formed.
Well there plenty of remanance of the white stuff which unlike the silver was a right pain to get nicely on the chips.
Note how white the NEC chips have gone. The white guey stuff is cleaned off the chips, board and also the heating unit. The mother board is take outside rested on some house bricks either end and the heat gun gently used on both sides for a period of time.
Once back together I put the power lead in and the video lead. Click the switch and hello the green light comes on.
Before we go any further I press the eject button. And out comes the DVD.
I connect a HDMI lead
Ah a picture.
And so I rung the machine for a while without the lid on. After a while I check the top hold down plate where the chips are under the Blue ray player. Erm goodgod they don't half get hot. I ponder how long this green light will stay on?
