Changing the Air Con Pressure Sensor

The time was right so off came the car bumper and the front crash girder to revel the air con pressure sensor.

Hopefully the valve under it will close and not let out all the air con gas.

Just in case I use long spanners so as not to freeze my fingers off. One spanner to turn the sensor and another to hold the delicate connection pipe in place.

And yep it came off without degassing the air con system.

I check the two units together to ensure they are the same and sure enough they are.

And on goes the new one. A reset with the computer and a turn on of the ignition switch and the fan doesn’t come on at all now? Then I remember there is a temperature switch which can prevent the unit working below a certain temperature. I go and check my dads car and low and behold his fan isn’t coming on that Skoda Superb either – so perhaps it is just too dam chilly outside now. I hope this has now sorted it but we’ll have to wait and see.
