Sunday night was Matinee night and
so off with the lights in with the disc, and on with the surround sound system.
And tonight's showing was “seeking a friend for the end of the world”
I’m guessing I booked this film as it has Keira Knightley in it and no other reason. I’m guessing though as I don’t remember ordering it. The good thing is though its in English . So its a very slow film, a film of romance if it ever gets there, will it get there?
Worryingly this part made me think of allotments. Not Zoe’s but Maddies. And yes it looks like this – well half of it. Lucky she didn’t put a spade in my hand at the time!
I did also notice that this tree was growing weirdly. Yep I was concentrating on the story.
You see and this will spoil it so don’t read any more aas this is the best bit of the who storyline within the film, Dodge hasn’t seen his dad for 25 year and Penny wants to go and visit her parents. Dodge earlier in the film tells her he knows a pilot who can take her there. After they start falling for each other, they end up in Somerset, where they pay a visit to Dodge's father. Their reunion leads to arguing but eventually, they reconcile and the three bond over personal time and dinner. One night after Penny falls asleep, Dodge carries her outside and it becomes apparent that the pilot he mentioned earlier is none other than his father. Dodge gently but reluctantly places her in the passenger side of the small plane, he whispers to her that she is the love of his life, at the same time knowing that this is the last time he will ever see her. He then nods to his father and watches as they fly away without him. Saying anymore would ruin it, but it doesn’t end there. No the end of the world doesn’t happen quiet that quickly. A Happy ending? Well if the world ending is happy then yes.
