My new TV areial is sitting there in the way, hell its big, and hell there’s nowhere to put it. And hell it’s sharp.
I spend some time wrapping presents and then packing to go to my parents for a few days.
Before this though I’m off to
The Greenies. Les is there, Harvey is there, Greenie is there and also Mrs Greenie. We are made wholely too welcome and don't leave for some time.
We settle in around my parents and the social evening begins at the Rainbow. We arrive and Di, Greg and the kids are there having a meal. they allow us to sit with them, it’s a really nice surprise to see them. They even let me have some chips! Then Sara and Gaz turn up, and for some reason they don’t want to sit with us. Well not closely. I go to move the tables, and they tell me not to. Then the waitress comes over and says she doesn’t mind if we want to move the tables. Gaz isn’t happy about it at all. We obviously have germs. They do get closer though and it is good to get together, all of us there in one place with a few beers and cheer.
Greenie joins us and we head to the anchor for a few pints. So the talk is where is Beardy then?
And nobody knows. Beardy may have disappeared, or just lost the use of his phone.
A few drinks in and its time for the long walk. The walk to
the four Ashes. Smile we did, and we relaxed in the corner, our corner, the corner we always have on Christmas eve.
Eventually though we knew the good beer, the descent beer of the Harrows was calling and we left.
In the Harrows we made our space, we enjoyed the ambience.
We even got a message, that someone might make it.
We make our way, one by one through the ales they do so well here.
which meant we didn’t want to leave, so we didn’t
We didn’t return to the Rainbow, there was no need, afterall
A joyful Beardy turned up.
to have some fun, some merriment.
and of course some beer.
Les tells me they have no pork pies for sale!!!
So I have more head instead.
More drink is required.
Now what's that then, what have they just announced?
Free pork pie all round, lots of it too.
and so we are happy, its the small things that matter, and that pork pie made it, it finished the night off perfectly.
and so we went out side, was it cold?
Yes it was.
