Saturday morning, I cook some breakfast, have a shower and open some windows. I settle at my computer desk to sort out some blogging, do my online banking, and to write to NPower. First I ask them for the £43.20 credit they owe me off my Prepay meter, and then on a separate email I specifically ask them to come back to me about my unfree electricity issue. I don’t want to confuse the two issues here.
Then I move the bookcase from the top of the staircase, the mirror and curtain pole.
I bang at the plaster hidden by said bookcase and wish I’d never moved it! Well I need real plaster for this whole and go to the garage to mix some up. This is going to take several layers. So here is layer one and as much as I could get to cling in said hole.
Next I try to remove the handrails and the brackets. The ones on the left that are mortared in I fatigued out, it was that or the grinder, and I did get the grinder out. The ones on the right well?
They were easily screwed in, but not so easy to screw out.
One just wouldn’t.
Then I sanded the areas down.
Looks so much better but there are undulated areas. So one with another skim.
And then to tackle the higher areas, and out with the ladder of hope!
Like I hope this is safe.
And some moment in life are scarier than others.
I kid you not.
And then I get banging that problematic areas. Which brings me to the brick.
And makes a mess of the floor.
Hopefully this can be sorted. Anyone know how? I need to make more plaster I guess.
And so I start the clear up.
The walls are better but need resanding again.
And slowly setting.
So that's it, it took a while to get motivated but once in the mood I was getting one with it.
Now to tidy myself up and
put these tools on the kitchen floor where they don’t belong.
As for that SDS drill, it doesn't work! So onto ebay.
I got the shelf up though, where there's a will there's a way.. Just don't ask how.
Having second shower of the day. Man I'm dirty.
And with that I turn on the unfree electricity and make things cosy
Its pizza tonight cooked in the pain in the ass oven.
After which I settle on the sofa to watch the film Alan settled for me. After a slow start,
he was right, it is a good film.
It finished the night off well.
