At Least I’m Alive

DSC_0001

I go shopping and buy many meat products to go in the oven.

DSC_0002

Well we have bacon for the morning.

DSC_0010

My brother comes round and we do some serious gaming.

DSC_0013

And it is nice I’m enjoying it and his company. Sometimes it is nice to stop and enjoy what you have got around you.

DSC_0004

Our bellies are filled and our gaming happiness, is devein.

DSC_0008

And if we do a review of the year of how things started out so very, very wonderful before the big crash, I think to myself

At least I’m still alive…….

In Symphony

IMG_20161230_102028

I start the day with a shower and some breakfast. The sandwich is so yummy. Then I decide that the MX5 needs some exercise. IMG_20161230_105554

So I take it out. And the park it up. IMG_20161230_105557

And get off my arse myself.

IMG_20161230_120816

Yeah we have come down the road. But the long way round I’ll have you know.

IMG_20161230_110349

I pay up and head on into the cubical.

IMG_20161230_110338

And just like superman I get changed.

IMG_20161230_115900

A while later I’m dripping wet. I’ve done 54 lengths and essentially been kicked out. I was going to make it to the sixty mark, but literally got kicked out.

IMG_20161230_110343

I take my contact lenses out and put my cloths on.

IMG_20161230_120821

Outside it is quiet a nice day.

IMG_20161230_121033

I get in the love machine and look at my watch. I’m late, but then the parents are always late.

IMG_20161230_173028

When I get home, the parents are here, upset that I’m late. On a better beat my new phone is here.

IMG_20161230_165715

But no time for that I pick up the tickets and we head off to the centre of town for

IMG_20161230_132922

dinner at Taylors.

IMG_20161230_124821

We choose.

IMG_20161230_131320

We eat.

IMG_20161230_131324

We enjoy.

IMG_20161230_131314

The simple fare offered, but done well.

IMG_20161230_133715

It is time to head around the corner, where we queue, eventually someone telling us if we have our tickets with us there is no need to queue and we can go straight in.

IMG_20161230_134331

This proves to be true.

IMG_20161230_134816

I take my coat off and relax. Its the first time I’ve been to the Prince of Wales Theatre.

IMG_20161230_135126

We await the start. What kind of show will we get?

IMG_20161230_134322

Will the panto be entertaining?

IMG_20161230_135152

The seats fill up.

IMG_20161230_153521

The curtains are closed. The lights dimmed and

IMG_20161230_153556

The Panto begins

IMG_20161230_173051

And the fairy comes out.

IMG_20161230_163735

Two and half hours latter the panto ends. It has been funny, it has been fun, infact it has been delightful. And not what I expected.

IMG_20161230_163729

Slowly the theatre ends.It is time to go.

IMG_20161230_180531

And while this was one of the oddest Jack and the beanstalk tales, it started with a Viking boat! It was greatly done, and so funny, for all the family. Beautiful scenery and costumes throughout. Wow.

IMG_20161231_090352

And this was the last performance of the panto here by the stars. Shorelle Hepkin as the fairy. Nikki Horsburgh as Princess Jill, Keith D’Winter as Dame Dolly, Joshua Dowen as Jack, Karl Greenwood as Silly Billy and the brilliant Darren John Langford as Fleshcreep Mr Evil. And of course there as a giant and many dancers. I didn’t know if any of them so I looked them up. But as a cast they work wonders together, especially when they got some kids on stage. And you know what they say about working with kids. Keith and and Karl did a grand job there. Considering it was a last minute thing to go, I’m so glad I did.

IMG_20161230_172543

And talking of last minute things. One minute I’m saying goodbye to the parents, the next I’m being asked last minute if I can make it to Birmingham by 19:30 there is a show I can go to.

Screenshot_20161230-181823

As it happens, there isn’t. The next train is at 18:59 and gets into New Street at 19:39, meaning I’d be there at about 20:00.

IMG_20161230_185314

It is agreed I should come anyway. I get changed again and head to the station.

IMG_20161230_190018

Oh I love chu chu travel

IMG_20161230_194228

I arrive at New Street and head towards the back door exit.

IMG_20161230_195046

And head towards Broadstreet.

IMG_20161230_195154

The Big Wheel of fortune.

IMG_20161230_195315

And arrive at THE Symphony Hall. I ask where floor 3 door 7 is at the information centre, which may seem odd. But the floor I was on, was floor 3. But no I was directed upstairs by 3 floors.

IMG_20161230_222010

Climbing very high and thinking I’m in the wrong place, there was a steward there at a door. I ask them if they have a ticket for me. And so they give me one with my name on it. I can’t go in until there is a break.

IMG_20161230_215830

At which point the door is opened for me and another girl confirms who I am inside and says follow me sir. And off we go for a long walk to the front.

IMG_20161230_201441

Well the view of the orchestra is good.

IMG_20161230_201455

People play their instruments and

IMG_20161230_210934

the conductor waves his arms around. We have Superman,

IMG_20161230_215729

ET,

IMG_20161230_215734

Harry Potter.

IMG_20161230_215747

Amongst a few.

IMG_20161230_215754

And to finish we had a special Star wars set in honour

IMG_20161230_215836

of Carrier Fisher and her mother.

IMG_20161230_215851

It is over though before you know it.

IMG_20161230_210922

The lights come on

IMG_20161230_202704

and the crowds leave.

IMG_20161230_231119

We head to New Street, I take Sarah the quick way and via my local Sainsbury's local for tea. Which to her horror consists of a large bag of crisps. She keeps pointing at the sandwiches. I ask her if she wants some?

IMG_20161230_231126

And then I get my first ride and a Wales Arriva train to Wolverhampton. Ermthese seats are so much more comfortable than the London Midland ones. And with that she drives me home.
