I get up and one thing goes through my mind. How nice a day it is out there. I start to get numerous texts asking is it still on. I look out the window. It looks really good here in Cannock.
Now as mad things go, you would expect me to be getting things ready. However I decide to put up the mirrors I got earlier in the week. So here is mirror one.
And here is mirror two. I reset up the fairy lights too and then look into the mirror and ponder just who is the most beautiful person I know.
With the fridge and freezer full of food already I wait until two hour before the beginning and then get in my MX5 and
And head to wilkos for some charcoal.
I also notice some hanging basket brackets. erm not worth buying the paint then.
From there I head to Iceland and from there to Aldi to get as much beer as I can afford.
Back at home a short while later, the weather has sharply turned.
erm its wet.
I fire up the BBQ
Les turns up and after a brief discussion, a quick look on the internet, I have reserved a £20 gazebo and Les goes off to collect from Argos, some ten minutes away by foot. He take the car.
People come, some of whom I haven't seen for a while.
The all love the Gazebo, the plastering I’ve done and
are eager for food.
Luckily I have just enough burgers, some 46 of them, some chicken, some lamb, some Qorne, some spicy. And a vast array of buns and hot dog buns.
Everyone is happy, even though its raining.
Then Les gets out some treats he has brought along.
I wonder if he thought I wouldn’t remember to get him chicken burgers?
This is good, having so many together. Sodding hard work mind.
Especially when the house is so small to house them in, if they all wanted to come inside.
The kids have fun tramping my garden down. I despair!
Then as evening comes, the fire gets lit.
And people huddle around it.
People relax with a drink.
While Andy Poade cannot believe my TV doesn’t have BBC 1 tunned in. Well I hard watch TV really. And so I set about working out how to retune the TV so they can watch the footie inside if they want.
It is however nicer out side.
If a bit damp.
So leave, some stay.
Some enjoy the atmosphere of the lava lamps.
whilst the night slowly fads away into warmth and darkness of friends and beer.
Well the beer fridge is empty once more.
that is for sure.
And with that I start tidying up, but all I want is my bed.
