The bread has gone green again, so it is a breadless breakfast outside in the sun this morning.
I’m not alone though. A bird has joined me.
I admire the garden. Somethings grow, somethings don’t.
My parents come round and sit in the sunshine with me. It is nice.
We get in my car now with the air con working cold and head to Wickes where I buy some paint. Good god this stuff is expensive. So 2 small tins later and £33 lighter we go into town shopping with my mom. And after a lot of shopping we settle for going into the Famous George & Berties for something to eat. Our first time here.
Google for some reason doesn’t seem to know about this place. I put it right.
A traditional dinner style place where you can eat and drink at the central bar or sit at a table.
We order and await the food from the todays special board.
There are no fancy meals here. Just wholesome stodge.
Nice done and tasty.
My mom has ham and new potatoes with parsley sauce and peas. The price doesn’t break the bank and the portions are big, although you can have smaller dishes.
At the church there is a wedding going on. We are nosey.
They have a horse drawn carriage with something blue.
This week I didn’t get my plants from the flower shop. I got them from the Green grocer's Jessica’s. This is a Japanese Rose.
Very pretty, although it looks nothing like a rose.
I plant some very fragrant lavender.
And try to get the sweat peas looking updwards.
It will smell so nice here as the wind passes up my drive.
Mean while I have lots of plant action. I will have to consider planting soon.
And with that I get the paint out. Its special exterior paint that when it dries, it dries with holes in it. To allow the wood and paint to breath and hence not blister. Guaranteed for some 5 years!
And do the door grey. Erm looks nice in grey.
I mow my lawn.
I mow the neighbor's lawn.
And then I relax. The bank is growing well. The bank is growing too well!
Eventually my brother comes round
I turn on some garden music and
have a beer.
And then another, whilst we or I complentate where we should go for a late night tea. I suggest somewhere new that has a walk involve to get our appetite going once we reach there, rather than heading to Chadsmore.
It is a walk, but a pleasant one on such a warm evening. We head into the Blue Ginger.
The poppadum's are served.
The pints of Kingfisher beer and the onion salad and hot sauces.
We have a sharing meat platter for starters.
And for mains we both have a chicken Jalfrezia and plain nan. You will notice the lack of a Balti dish.
Eventually wit full bellies it is time to leave.
Outside I look for Pokémon. There are no around though.
As we have to walk past the local White Lion pub we go in for beer. It is quiet. We sit at the bar and talk to the locals, who are keen to find out where I’m from.
I explain I live opposite the Piped Piper Pub but no matter how many beers I drank I couldn’t keep the place going.
Eventually we reached my own garden.
And make it a beer garden.
At about 1:30am though we call it a night and head on in to bed.
