The James Cook

IMG_20161126_104550

You know staying around the Poades means I get woken up by the Poades. The kids come into the room and jump all over me. Somehow I think its time to get up. Well that you be bounced on to death!

Some cornflakes and a lovely brew and the kids and Maddie go out leaving me to relax on the reclining sofas. Now that's nice.

IMG_20161126_115301

It also means I get to play with the toys.

IMG_20161126_112431

And with a bit of practise I come up with a work of art.

IMG_20161126_115336

I’m not sure about this Saturday morning TV though, it appears to be scary.

IMG_20161126_115704

Although they did draw a palm tree on the wall.

IMG_20161126_121543

I find the energy to pack and leave eventually, taking in some fresh air.

There are some indications that we are in an area of wealth as I head towards the high street for the bus. Now where do you catch the bus into town again?

IMG_20161126_130530

I get a ticket to Tame Bridge Parkway and head down to the platforms. I’m still finding the new part of the station disorientating.

IMG_20161126_130527

In trundels The James Cook. Wow just look at those boogies.

IMG_20161126_135724

My chu chu comes, I get on and put my bag on the rack while I get a table seat and relax.

IMG_20161126_193027

Back at home, I sort my washing out and do some house work. My brother arrives and Les rings to say he is on the bus. We arrange to meet at the Roebuck. A pub at the end of the road I haven't been in for some time. When we get there Les is already finishing his first pint!

IMG_20161126_202032

We have another there before heading to the Royal Oak.

IMG_20161126_204233

Where Les claims he loves Cannock, if only for the cheap beer prices. We sit in the beer garden and enjoy the inferred heat warmers.

IMG_20161127_001159

Next I take them to the new micro brewery pub the Newhall Arms.

IMG_20161126_205530

A vast selection of craft beers on pull and in bottle form.

IMG_20161126_205630

You could even think that your sitting in the middle of the forest next to a deer.

IMG_20161126_215626

Okay that maybe an exaggeration.

IMG_20161126_215640

Me I stick to beer, those two though, drink mango cider.

IMG_20161126_230023

And it sure tastes like mango.

IMG_20161126_233329

Being that we are in the town centre and not having a curry, it ample opportunity to try my first

IMG_20161126_233911

Cannock Kebab after the pub.

IMG_20161126_233909

oh so yummy if a bit dear a £5.80. In Aston a bigger one costs just £3.00

IMG_20161127_004652

And with a full belly its time to go to bed.
