Blame It On The Ducks

DSC_3287

My parents did my shopping for me yesterday while I worked on my cars. However they didn’t get me any loafs. I put my shoes on and head to the local convince store.

DSC_3289

It’s a nice walk for the morning.

DSC_3291

I get a load from convenience store that is located conveniently opposite the commentary.

DSC_3293

With bread I have a bacon sandwich, in the garden of course. I’ve texted Mr Lawn mower man to let him know I’m in at the moment, should he feel the need of a lawn mower.

DSC_3303

Yes I’m admiring the flowers again.

DSC_3306

Well they won’t be here forever.

DSC_3319

Even the clematis on the side of the garage has flowered so wonderfully.

DSC_3322

Back round the parents, the old exhaust is off and the new exhaust is on.

DSC_3323

And yeah while you may not appreciate it, I’m going to show off that shiny pipe, while its still a shiny beautiful pipe.

DSC_3326

And while under the car a paint the bottom rails, that often get scratch.

DSC_3325

I wonder how loud the pipe is?

DSC_3328

First of all though I change the manifold gasket in the hope to get rid of the tappetty tappet noise.

DSC_3320

And with that I start her up. Hell I thought they said it would be quieter!

DSC_3331

While my 10 year old exhaust doesn’t look up to much, it is sound structurally. I decide to give someone the chance to get some fun out of it for about a tenner on ebay.

DSC_3337

I start the bidding for 99p and for collection only.

DSC_3346

I put the battery on charge and then get out some rust protection.

DSC_3349

I fill the sills until its going to annoy my dad, as its also protecting t=his drive too now.

DSC_3351

Back at home it’s time to clean up and relax.

DSC_3354

Into the shower and then

After All these Years.

DSC_3209

I get up, the buyer for my mower is coming to collect early. And this is the begining of why I don’t like selling on ebay.

DSC_3214

While I wait, I make breakfast.

DSC_3221

And enjoy it in my garden.

DSC_3216

While here I enjoy the view of the flowers.

DSC_3218

The vivid colours.

DSC_3212

The purest whites and yellows.

DSC_3215

It is like paradise.

DSC_3223

While I wait I cut the front hedge back.

DSC_3227

While I wait I cut the back lawn.

DSC_3225

But still it is here.

DSC_3230

While I wait I vacuum the house, clean the kitchen, clean the bathroom.

DSC_3233

While I wait I make a pot of tea.

DSC_3234

While I wait I start to admire the flowers again.

DSC_3241

My garden makes me smile inside.

DSC_3242

It is so beautiful.

DSC_3245

But not every tulip wants to reach for the sun.

DSC_3247

Amazing colours, amazing textures.

DSC_3249

I cannot believe how wonderful it has become.

DSC_3250

But it brings me joy like I’ve not felt for a long time.

DSC_3251

So special.

DSC_3255

Everyday is slightly different.

DSC_3253

Somethings are gracious, others are weird.

DSC_3258

And some just beautiful.

DSC_3261

Even the bloody valentine has come to life this year.

DSC_3263

Every corner has some colour.

DSC_3267

Every nook so delightful.

DSC_3265

With a surprise hidden here and there.

DSC_3269

Ah is that the post man?

DSC_3272

Yes it is, and he has brought me the MX5 renewal. I look at it in disbelief. My god its gone up again.

DSC_3273

Enough is enough, I text the person saying I have things to do and have gone out. It’s no longer 9am its mid day and I have other things to do. Round my parents I open the bonnet of my car. Turn the engine on and then put the end of a long screw driver to various parts of the engine with the other end next to my ear. Well there you go, its the new power steering pump making noise. That is one great trick my dad has taught me, after all these years.

DSC_3277

I start stripping the car down once more. I’m good at this.

DSC_3278

And eventually I have the power steering pump off again.

DSC_3281

What I find, isn’t what I’m expecting.

DSC_3279

The fixtures on the pump pulley had eaten the pulley and the center hole had become uncircular, causing all the noise. Of the four power steering pumps I now have I choose another to put on, and start the slow process of putting it all back together as good as I can.

DSC_3282

It’s all together once more. The underpan is on properly so it doesn’t vibrate, and she is running so very, very silky smooth.

DSC_3284

I swap the cars over. I’m going to swap the exhaust over well thats what I think. Get the car up on its ramps. And while the cat bolts unscrew, the ones going to the rear backbox have, well their heads have disappeared. Hell where is my dad, where is my dads grinder?
