Another lie in, and another bacon sandwhich. Its pleasant out, well in this shady garden.
I enjoy the water fountain, spraying upward, against gravity, the water droplets then falling once more into the cool pool of water. Something flies by me.
It stops on the opposite side of the garden. On the fence.
I get a bit closer and look.
Its a lovely butterfly, a bit late in the season to see one, but they are happy sitting in the sun.
I look at the garden, get the snips out ad do a bit.
A bit leads to a bit more.
Which leads a to even more. I even get the gardening gloves out.
There is so much tidying up to do.
And here are the nastursions. But now they are no more. I bag them up ready for composting, even though they are still flowering.
Its not the only thing still flowering though.
I hope those bulbs are sucking up the nutrients.
I snip the lillies down.
Admire some pinks
dressed in dew.
And the Fuschures are still growing too.
And I have a dinky rose.
I do some vacuuming, that I’ve ment to do, week after, week, after week.
The container is full. Not because it wasn’t emptied last time, but because there is so much dirt on the floor, or was, as there is not more, hopefully anyway, otherwise what would have been the point. I head around my parents for a bit and then come back home very early.
There is no call, so it’s my choice, stay in or go out alone. I choice not to sit in. That I can do any day. And so I head twoards the town center.
Ver off to the right
And head to the southern end of Cannock, visiting streets I’ve never walked down, finding a chippy I never knew about, and a family butchers too.
Eventually though I’m here, Cannocks Bonfire night, on Bonfire night. I join the queue.
I pay the £3 and I’m in, I walk to where everyone is. That is obvously the place to be.
I head for the fire.
Fire so big.
Where it is good to see a crew. Not for our safety.
But to throw jerry cans of fuel on it.
Yep there’s nothing like a good burn. If only the pub had burnt so well.
And with that, you could feel the warmth even from a distance.
There’s a fair in full swing
And the moon is out with clear skies, perfect for the firework display.
It burns more and more.
And more and more people turn up.
And it burns some more.
And more people come.
It is so nice the warmth on ones face, hands, coat, legs……
yeah I keep my coat on to protect me fromt he warmth.
But what we are all wandering now is.
When are the fireworks going to start?
As it happens there was no announcment.
We just stood gazing into the flames when…
Zipp, zipp, zipp
bang bosh bop
sizzle, phiz whoooop
bash maze, mooop.
bang a wooooooo
what you may notice here is how close the fireworks are to the ride.
the ride that never closed. And that was it, the end.
So it was time to get tea.
Have a walk.
And enjoy the rides of life.
Yeah, all the funfair classics.
And rides to make you sick.
This though looks gentle and safe enough now the fireworks have stopped.
The atmospher is wonderful. I feel like a kid again.
And thus a get a burger, a pint from the bar and
head back tot he warmth for a while.
The fire burns on and on.
And the crowds love it.
Eventually though it is time to depart.
I ask google the quickest way.
and take the exercise I need so badly.
Man I’m glad to get home, but so glad I went out…….
