How It All Ended

2018-12-30_12-18-27

With the drive in mind, this is how it all began.

DSC_7340

Great while the car was parked on the drive as it hid most of the odd and broken slabs.

DSC_7342

But the difference between then and now..

DSC_7139

Now it looks great in comparison. Part two is yet to be done from the gate onwards. But for now I’m having some time off the drive work. The important bit is done. Like the drive so much has changed over the last 12 months. Things are good, things are better. And that I will continue to rebuild on. How will next year end? Why don’t we find out how this year ended first?

DSC_7284

I head off to get some provisions for the day.

DSC_7282

I have seen more flashing lights on this cars dash than on my Christmas tree. The passenger rear wheel ABS sensor has stopped working. I have ordered a replacement.

DSC_7286

DSC_0046

With provisions and some washing up liquid I get the flower power dispenser out and on the job of cleaning the pea shingle at the front..

DSC_0045

We get a nice foam, and the caustic should slow down weed growth in the dirt. After all it is only washing it downwards.

DSC_0048

With the job done it is so much cleaner. I wash away the excess sand and admire.

DSC_0051

I plant up my hanging baskets with winter pansies and

DSC_0054

put some in my borders to brighten them up.

DSC_0055

I plant a Jasmin plant by the rose by the door too.

DSC_7287

Yes that is great.

DSC_7294

I move the car onto the driveway.

DSC_7291

A while later it is time to go out.

DSC_0059

I head to the New Hall Arms with my brother.

DSC_7295

While my cloths are drying from the washing earlier my innards are getting wetter. We have a couple of pints and then

DSC_7302

head to the postbox.

DSC_7301

It feels like I’m in Europe somewhere.

DSC_7305

And from there we go to bar sport.

DSC_7307

As it happens I don’t think I’ve been in here before. They have a huge burger selection, and a good looking breakfast.

DSC_7308

They also have a Chieftain tap, although there is no beer in it!

DSC_0060

We wander to Trade to Play and then the Weatherspoon's

DSC_7311

As we all know, you should never go shopping when drunk, you will only end up buying more beer.

DSC_7317

We cross the square to The Royal Oak.

DSC_7320

They even have a disco on here.

DSC_7325

We enjoy the warm temperature of the beer garden, and the lights. It is lovely.

DSC_7330

At some point we go home. I cook up a chilli for tea using some dynamite.

DSC_7329

Erm smells wonderful, and when served up it was amazing.

DSC_7331

I got the Moet out to go with it, and once tea was eaten I fell asleep on the sofa, yep that's how it ended.

A Day Of Nature

DSC_7113

I get up and admire the work that got done yesterday.

DSC_7117

I am so very, very pleased.

DSC_7121

For breakfast this morning is sausage, just one, but then it is long. What I need with it, is some tomato sauce.

DSC_7122

However the bottle is empty, so I have to go Thai style.

DSC_7129

I head to the car, and when I get in I check something. Aghhh the clock is wrong, that explains yesterday.

DSC_0037

A while later I’m in a wood with three girls.

DSC_7147

We enjoy the fresh air,

DSC_7149

The tranquil water

DSC_7162

and just being in a bit of nature.

DSC_7182

Here we are away from it all.

DSC_7194

We follow the stream as it meanders, and wiggles.

DSC_7201

It is perfect.

DSC_7232

Even the sun comes out to play.

DSC_7240

The dog loves it so much too.

DSC_7270

Not to far, not to short.

DSC_7271

And then we have a tea and cake at the shop.

DSC_7278

We head home, but home isn’t the only place we go.

When It Comes Together

DSC_7047

I could have blogged this picture yesterday. Only it would have been dark. A full days work happened yesterday. The edging strips went in and I made a lot of concrete to hold them in place. Then it was front filled and levelled up to put the side kerbs in.

DSC_7048

Today though I need to get rid of the rubble that is in the bags. And that means a lot of visits to the tip.

DSC_7049

While I eat breakfast I see the installation has only got to 50%…..

DSC_7051

I was surprised, surprised to see my dad this morning. After all we work hard yesterday.

DSC_7055

While I tipped and visited Wickes for more stuff,

DSC_7056

my dad finished relaying the center blockwork.

DSC_7057

Wow just how I planned it. The old shingle is very dirty, but hopefully I can clean that up.

DSC_7063

I park the car on there, it is however by the looks of it time to get changed and head to Codsall.

DSC_7065

Somewhere along the line something has gone wrong. I have got here very early. How I’m not sure. But here I am. One minute I was at the tip panicking about the time as I looked down at the clock in the car, the next I was relaxing in the Crown Joules. I have a Pale Ale.

DSC_7066

As my body relaxes, I realise how tired it is, how even my fingers ache.

DSC_7067

And so I relieve the pain.

DSC_7070

I really like it here. Its got a great bar like Cheers.

DSC_7074

At 5pm I head round and see the house transformation. Of WOW it has changed, and yes it works, and yes I’m jealous. It lovely.

DSC_7075

We head to the station, where we are joined by the four Asbury's. I wasn’t expecting them. But a pleasure it was to see them. In fact lately I haven't seen anyone but my drive work.

DSC_7079

So you can imagine how much of a treat this was.

DSC_7080

In the toilets the noughts ad crosses game was going well.

DSC_7086

We head over to the Crown Joules to get some tea.

DSC_7088

But they were not cooking, so instead, we went for a walk.

DSC_0034

Some time later, we are at Codsall Spice.

DSC_7089

And man was the dish nice, yes, yes, yes.

DSC_7090

However time had flown by and it was time for me to leave for the 9:25 chu chu.

DSC_7091

I walk across the road and

DSC_7096

before you know it the train had arrived. I start my journey south.

DSC_7099

I change at Grand Central and start my journey north.

DSC_0035

Some time later I have passed my usually curry house on the way home and thankgod not gone in.

DSC_7104

When home something unbelievable happened.

DSC_7105

Yes it has started.

DSC_7109

Can  stay awake long enough to have a go.

DSC_7111

Just about, but not for long…..
