Considering how ill I was last night I feel sprightly this morning. I slept and I slept well as soon as we got here.
We put the overnight bags in the car and
then drive through the lovely Calais towards the port.
We are parked up in the waiting area where there is a big screen full of great information.
How you should walk.
How you should drive onto the boat.
How you are being constantly watched.
How you should not leave France.
However we are given the signal to board and so we slowly drive up the ramp.
and into the ferries storage area.
We are parked up at the far end.
This is the Pride of Burgundy. I can’t recall ever being on this one.
Inside I don’t recognise the layout.
We enjoy the view for 10 minutes, as the chef has only just started cooking.
And the announcement is made that the food is now ready.
Considering how ill I was yesterday, you would think I wouldn’t be that hungry.
But as everything that was in me was now out, I was in fact starving and really looking forward to breakfast.
On the otherside we head to our cars.
It’s always reassuring to sea ships well maintained.
If its rusty just paint over the rust.
We drive off the boat.
After a swop of driver and then many hours later after I’ve been asleep we are home. The car is unpacked and things put in my own car.
The roof box removed and car cleaned.
It’s pretty obvious I’m not at all well still, I head home for desperate for bed.
