I Ieave for work, pondering gif they will deliver or if this is going to be a right pain.
Sometime later when I return and having heard nothing
I am relieved to see building blocks
and side pavers
Yep, lots of them.
I haven't got time to admire them for long though.
In, get changed and out of the door to make the 17:50 train north. I get to the station just in the nip of time.
And when the train does come it is the gold one.
Inside nothing has changed other than the code of conduct sign.
At Hednesford the train pulls up briefly. And I notice something.
Wow from the 8th October they are going live! Will they have found any trains though of the electric kind spare to use?
We whizz through Cannock Chase
and onto some lovely scenery.
At the station I climb the stairs.
Over to the other side where I can get a ticket.
Once brought I head on back to the bridge.
This is such a lovely place to be.
As I head over the top I look around.
Either a train spotters paradise or a suiciders retreat.
Train two comes and I nip on board.
10 minutes later I arrive in Stafford.
A short time later I arrive at the Sun. And look who has just arrived too.
One minute I’m in the Sun, the next minute I’m not. I text the people I’m meeting, now in the Beer Garden. The reply I get is where is the Beer Garden. Know who it is who has asked the question, I know they are not asking where the beer garden is, but where the beer garden is as a pub. I make it clearer. The beer garden is at the back of the pub.
A while later I look up and see the sky.
Which is lucky as if I look down I see my trainers.
A lot of people may see this glass is half full,
but it is not and another round is brought. We move to a warmer spot, which isn’t much warmer.
And thus move into the shed.
When I go in for another round, there is now a table free so I tex the others to come in.
although Rog said he had to decipher that.
Interestingly in the toilet it has been arrange “for when you need some comfort”.
The pack splits and me and my brother head for the Island, which is located on the island and used to be called the Island Pub, But is no longer, called pub.
I’ve never been, it is a first for me.
Inside it is quiet but nice.
It should be noted though, that if you are coming here, it is a bring your own. And that means bring your own. They do not sell any alcohol. And so we had water.
Luckily they do serve food, which is what this place is all about. Taste and experience.
I order a Tawa, and my brother orders a Jalfrezi.
And a couple of nans. I have the usual plain one and my brother a cheesy garlic one.
i can confirm the plain ones were top notch, so I ordered another which was very quickly prepared.
And the cheese and garlic one was also hand made. And lovely, unlike some other places where the plain ones are hand made but the other choice ones are obviously brought in.
How was the food.
Well this says it all.
And at the end of the night I was not about to get wet feet. Here they have extra wide piss pots.
