If only the cars were made as good as their badges.
I set about cleaning her,
Giving her a dam good polish.
It works a treat,
I do all the nooks and crannies'.
Then I treat the leather inside,
Which once more smells like leather.
Looks good, smells good.
and with that done.
I get the computer out to see what error codes come up. What we get is:
The mass air flow meter, at least an easy fix, and at present it is still working.
Rear Tail light is faulty.
Driverside mirror indicator.
Satnav non communication.
Canbus non communication to Sat Nav.
I replace the six 5W bulbs in the taillight and the two 16W ones. Hopefully that will sort that out.
Luckily my dad still had a replacement driverside mirror indicator lamp, this was a bitch to take apart and replace.
And then we have the sat nav.
I try to recode it in the hope that whoever has messed with it before, cocked up.
I alter bit 7 BAP and put in the workshop number required and press the go button and wow it says complete. I reset the satnav which eventually reboots.
I disconnect the pc, turn the ignition key……
And there it has appeared in the information screen.
I select it and it comes up.
And the radio information.
So what is needed now before I use it daily for work:
A full service doing the air, oil, fuel filters and changing the oil. Along with replacing the cabin filter of course.
And then it needs a new timing belt, water pump, tensioner and drivebelts, and antifreeze replacing.
And the front brake pads and discs replacing.
Apart from that she is good now.
Welcome Bart to your new home.
