Straight and Narrow

DSC_6096

I get up and wash and put something on for breakfast.

DSC_6097

As I look outside I see it is perfect drive building weather.

DSC_6098

I do some menial tasks and then have an early morning builders tea break.

DSC_6099

I sit down and my eyes wander around the garden.

DSC_6102

For some reason up this corner the garden thinks its spring.

DSC_6100

We have a small abundance of rose flowers.

DSC_6101

Delicate and fully matured.

DSC_6103

I also spot dinner hanging on a branch.

DSC_6105

Some things though have just come too late. But a notable try.

DSC_6106

I wander back towards the work area and get back on with it.

DSC_6107

More soil moved.

DSC_6109

and the front edging strip goes from this

DSC_6111

to this. Now fully concreted it, at least I’ll be able to drive over it.

DSC_6110

Time though to mix some more and to start stage two.

DSC_6112

I get the cover up.

DSC_6113

And lay the edging strips in a straight line.

DSC_6116

Many hours later it is done, and then covered in case a frost forms.

DSC_6118

I am pleased with the effort today.

DSC_6122

And at the end of it, not a lot may have looked to have changed. But it has.

DSC_6127

Time to mop the floor.

DSC_6132

and have a relaxing bath, I ache everywhere.

DSC_6135

Then eventually I see what there is to eat. Ah you can tell my dad has been here helping me. Two scones have gone and it wasn’t me.
