We get our ski gear from the lockers and head out the back door.

Erm how very convenient.

We swosh away from the hotel down the slopes to the lift pass shop where I present my self printed voucher and hope to get 4 lift passes back. And yes I do!

From here the only way is initially up up up, and so we go up on the 6 man chair.

At the top the views are stunning.

We head around the La Toussuire bowl wizzing up and down the lifts and runs.

Enjoyiong every moment for the baking sunshine. To excited we never stop for a break.

There so many wonderful varied runs.

All with slopes in great condition.

We go around the bowl antilockwise finding some of the more slower lifts that give us a rest.

Eventually we reach the far end of the bowl and the only way is

well down to La Bottiers at 1100m.

It down down down.

Yep I’ve seen the drag lifts back up, we'll deal with them latter lets keep going down down down.

and so we push on

until there is no further to go. This is as low as it gets.

We have a breather and then I brace myself for that fact that the only way is up and up two long long drag lifts. Luckily there is a break half way between them.

And off we set.

So was it painful. Yes it was. Not only long but steep in places too.

It was so nice to get back on a chairlift!

And then head back around the bowl clockwise,

Well it was the afternoon and I was exhausted but mainly I think because we had not stopped in all those hours of baking sunshine for a drink. We get back to the hotel and go to the outside cafe area.

Sit down and

Order a litre of water whihc was going to cost a fiver. I couldn’t help but gulp it down.

Even my brother was shatterted.

We had a Panini each and then went to find the parents.

Well as I discovered the green runs in the main bowl were too steep for my mom, so I got the car and remembering in La Bottiers there was a short green run. La Bottiers though is much further in the car than by snowboard. We park up with the boot at the end of the slopes and head up the mountain to the green run.

To be frank it didn’t go well. My mom fell off the drag lift and that was that again. Another long slow walk off the mountain.

As the sun set it was time to head back to La Toussuire. As we got back we stopped at the U – Mart and as we had the car we filled the trolley with the heavy stuff for the week and then lobbed it into the boot of the car.

I got Rob and Dad to help with the shopping from the car to the apartment. We now even had beer.

We then went down the hill and shopping in La Toussuire itself.

In the wonderful not pedestrian zone – giggle. Here we got some essentials.

We arrive back at the apartment and My mom and dad are ready to go down stairs to the restaurant there.

Here we have good service, and excellent food and beer.

No doubt we won’t be losing any weight this hoilday

There is an incident with strawberry jam which becomes the joke of the week later in the week with the poor waitress.

Finally though I get the post cards out and begin to write once more with a beer in my hand.
