I get up, I’m thinking two things, bulb planting and man cave. I lie, first I’m thinking breakfast, which lead to another first, clean the bathroom, which lead to another first, clean the kitchen. So really by the time I’d had breakfast I was then thinking two things, Bulb planting and man cave.
Well those hundreds of bulbs, that may be an exaggeration, that my mom left for me on the stairs,
I picked them up and took them to the garden.
I considered for a moment where I might want to have all these daffodils pop up.
I look at the fence panel that has not bared well in the recent winds,
And then get the lawn mower out. It is soothing.
A while later a thought that I had not thought had been done. The lawn had been mowed and looks great.
I head into the borders with the bulbs.
And yet in the garden we still have some flowers.
Still some pink flowers.
Here and there I dig.
But mostly near the pool.
Under the tree. This should now be a abundance is the spring.
I admire the work I have done,
And the way some plants never give up.
I chop the lillys down, in the hope they will return once more next year.
All is wonderful here in its own little ways.
My, I still have strawberries growing.
And I admire yet more pink,
That is before I get rid of the grass in the brown bin.
My feet are wet, my trousers dirty.
I stop and have a final cup of tea.
I head upstairs, get changed and
Then get in the car and head into town. I go to Man Cave but there is a big queue, so I go to my old haunt, where there is no queue. My head is played with as I relax in the seat, and before you know it, it is off and we are done.
With the tappets getting ever nosier on the MX5, I drive to Halford's and look for the special ingredient. I open the bonnet, pour it in to the oil filler hole and smell its yukkyness. Hopefully this will dissolve the gunge on the tappets and allow them to fill once more. Now though I need to take her for a long drive. I go to Iceland next door and the then head to Wilco’s in Stafford, a quick blast up the motorway, a nice run and then a countryside run back through the chase to home.
Back at home, my mom had asked if I needed anything this morning. I said I could do with some toilet rolls. I wonder if she knows something I don’t about this week’s up and coming bowl movements?
I haven't even got anywhere to stash this amount of rolls!
I put away the shopping
and consider relaxing.
